Hypnosis To Quit Smoking Reviews
One method that is becoming more and more popular is using hypnosis to stop smoking, or suggestions made under deep relaxation. As I’m sure you are aware, there are two areas of your mind, your conscious and your subconscious. Your conscious mind deals with everyday activities, such as driving, talking and going to work. The conscious mind is aware of its surroundings and itself. Your subconscious on the other hand deals with all the bodily functions, things the conscious mind would go crazy having to think about. Things such as ensuring enough blood is pumped around the body, or you have enough stomach acid present to digest breakfast. The subconscious has no perception of reality, and doesn’t know the difference whether something is true or false, real or imagined, right or wrong. It just takes what is programmed in by the conscious mind, and accepts it as fact. This is where suggestions made under deep relaxation come in. The highly suggestible subconscious mind is far more easily accessed when the conscious mind is in a relaxed state. Hypnotherapy works by making suggestions that reprogram the subconscious while the client is in a state of concentrated relaxation. Hypnotherapy has many uses, and is even used to promote healing for ailments such as back pain and other non-life threatening illnesses. It can be used to strengthen the immune system, and channel resources to the part of the body that require assistance in healing itself. In the case of quitting smoking, hypnotherapy is used to help correct the false impression that smoking is a pleasurable and relaxing experience, when quite the opposite is true. Smoking actually speeds up the heart rate and the metabolism, in an attempt to eliminate the toxic chemicals from the system. Suggestions made under hypnotherapy attempt to put right years of conditioning that smoking is a source of pleasure. It can also help instil the fact that withdrawal symptoms are also a result of years of conditioning from the very people who convinced you smoking was a good idea – the tobacco companies. They need you to believe quitting is hard, otherwise they would go out of business. Nicotine replacement therapy companies also need you to believe that you can’t do it without their product, so they use clever marketing to convince you this is true. Hypnotherapy may help your subconscious mind see past these lies. It can also train your subconscious to be calm during times of stress, and how to better deal with stressful situations. This can eliminate the need for cigarettes or NRT by helping you better deal with stressful situations without nicotine. There are many myths associated with hypnotherapy, the most common is that hypnosis is associated with abracadabra and stage shows. Many believe you can be persuaded to do things they don’t want to while under hypnosis . The fact of the matter is, you can’t be hypnotized unless you want to be. Hypnotherapy (not the hypnotic stage show) is simply suggestions made under a state of heightened relaxations, where attempts are made to move past the guard of the conscious mind to retrain the subconscious. Our Comments: If you have tried other methods and found you are failing because you have not dealt with your underlying reasons for smoking, then hypnotherapy may be for you. Thankfully it is no longer necessary to seek out a competent hypnotist, there are tried and tested hypnotherapy systems that deal with reprogramming the subconscious available online. Hypnosis To Quit Smoking Review by Tracy Summers, Payne, Ohio, US, August 21, 2008
I had a hypnotherapist come round to my house. We talked for ages about the things I found hardest about quitting. I lay down and then kept on talking until I was completely relaxed. Then he said these things I can’t remember very well, but after that I found it really easy to resist smoking. I was able to calm myslef down a lot better at work, and it was much easier thsan I thought to quit. It’s been 6 months and I have still quit. I say give it a try.
